Transitional Living

Having safe supportive housing is critical to continued sobriety. In our region creating transitional sober living for mothers and their children is even more challenging and we are thrilled to offer supportive housing for mothers in recovery.

Abi’s Place is Hope on Haven Hill’s first transitional sober-living house which offers women the opportunity to reside with other women and their children, in recovery as they prepare to transition back into the community.

While living at Abi’s Place, women will receive weekly clinical case management to support them in:

  • Receive assistance with securing employment;
  • Help with finding nurturing childcare while they work;
  • Support for completing educational goals;
  • Identify safe, long-term housing.

The residents of Abi’s Place participate in parenting education groups, share cooking and household chores. The house is overseen by a clinical case manager, and on-call support is available 24/7

The average stay at Abi’s Place is 6-12 months.

*Children 5 years old and younger are able to live on property with their mothers. Older children are eligible for visits as appropriate.

Abi’s Place was dedicated to the inspirational memory of Abi Lizotte.

Abi’s Place is dedicated to the inspirational memory of Abi Lizotte. In 2015, Abi was pregnant and experiencing homelessness, while suffering from SUD (substance use disorder) and desperate to find treatment. It was witnessing Abi’s struggles and perseverance that motivated the founders of Hope on Haven Hill to create the organization. At that time, only one residential treatment facility for pregnant women with SUD existed in New Hampshire and the wait list for admission was daunting.

Today Hope on Haven Hill provides a holistic continuum of care for pregnant and post-partum women with SUD; residential, outpatient and transitional housing.

Abi’s Place, located in Rochester, NH is an eight bedroom, beautifully restored Victorian residence. The home accommodates up to eight families, is within walking distance to a Head Start Child Care Center and is in close proximity to numerous employment sites.
