About the Role

The Licensed Clinician provides intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and crisis intervention, and delivers individual, group, and family counseling services. In this role, you will use evidence-based practices to treat substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders while supporting mothers in strengthening healthy parenting skills. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to promote positive outcomes for women and their families, maintain timely and accurate documentation, and uphold strict confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.

What We’re Looking For

Qualified candidates must hold a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, clinical psychology, or a related behavioral health field, along with current New Hampshire licensure as an LADC, MLADC, LICSW, or LCMHC. A minimum of three years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders is required. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based practices, ASAM Criteria, and the 12 Core Functions, along with strong communication skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. This position is based in Rochester, NH, and requires reliable transportation for local travel between program sites.

Clinical Intern

Position Description & Related Responsibilities

The Clinical Intern is responsible for providing individual, group and family counseling services to Hope on Haven Hill residents daily with an emphasis on providing Trauma-Responsive Care and Gender Responsive Treatment.  This position requires flexibility and a willingness to learn.

Reports To: Field Supervisor, Clinical Director, and/or Executive Director

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Participate in providing clinical services such as intake/diagnostic evaluations, case evaluations, and crisis interventions for all HHH program clients (residential, IOP, OP).
  • Participate in providing individual and group counseling to women participating in the residential program with an emphasis on relapse prevention and healthy coping skills.
  • Act as a member of the treatment team addressing co-occurring disorders using evidence-based practices in individual, group, and family formats.
  • Lead or co-lead weekly house meetings to assist residents in recognizing group strengths and managing conflict.
  • Encourage and support parent involvement and participation per program guidelines.
  • Help mothers learn healthy parenting skills that will assist them in their everyday life.
  • Recognize resident’s rights and responsibilities, including resident’s right of privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Seek out and participate in opportunities for growth by attending professional training conferences/workshops as directed by your supervisor and in accordance with academic guidelines.
  • Attend scheduled team meetings and actively participate to improve positive resident outcomes.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures in performing job responsibilities.
  • Provide crisis de-escalation in emergent situations and/or seek support from clinical team members to maintain a safe and healthy treatment environment.
  • Support risk management and participates in programs concerning resident and staff safety.
  • Report evaluation findings to direct supervisor, Clinical Director and/or Executive Director and recommends changes to enhance the program as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned by Clinical Director and/or Executive Director.

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Active pursuit of Bachelor or Master Degree in social work, counseling, clinical psychology, or related field.
  • Identified interest in working with substance use disorder diagnosed individuals.
  • Awareness of the importance of providing culturally competent care to diverse client population such as cultural and/or religious minorities, co-occurring disorders and indigent socio-economically disadvantaged clients.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively and timely.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully; good inter-personal skills.
  • If in recovery, provide evidence of personal stability as well as adhering to all HHH policies as it relates to recovery.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently.
  • Willingness to learn and grow under the directive of field supervisor, clinical team members, and academic program during the duration of your clinical placement.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in excellent customer service.
  • Ability to provide input on the creation of new systems and efficiencies.
  • Confidentiality as a top priority and awareness of 42 C.F.R. Part 2 and HIPAA Regulations.
