Building Confidence in Recovery
When Leanna first came to Hope on Haven Hill, she was searching for a way to rebuild her life for herself and her two young sons, Giovanni and Lucas. She openly shares that before coming to the program, she was struggling to manage her recovery while pregnant and realized she couldn’t do it alone.
The structured daily routine at Hope on Haven Hill initially felt challenging. “It took me a while to get adjusted,” Leanna recalls, “because everything was scheduled, and I wasn’t used to that. But once I did, I realized that even though I had to do it, I wanted to do it—it was helping me.”
Today, Leanna lives independently at Abi’s Place, works locally, and has found a sense of freedom and confidence she hadn’t experienced before. She attends recovery meetings regularly—often more than required—and credits this routine for keeping her grounded.
Another source of strength has been the program’s strength and conditioning classes, run by Kathleen Beede of Eagle Physical Therapy. Kathleen's classes have become an essential part of her self-care.
“It makes me feel good, like I’m doing something for myself,” she says. “It helps my mental health, which helps my recovery. It reminds me that I’m capable of taking care of myself and my boys.”
Leanna is proud to be a present, active mother and to make her own decisions about her life and her children. Her journey is a testament to the power of structure, support, and encouragement—and the critical role that donors play in providing women like Leanna with the tools, guidance, and opportunities to reclaim their lives.
With your support, more women can build the strength, stability, and confidence they need to create lasting change for themselves and their families.
