Outpatient Programs FAQs

FAQs About our Outpatient Programs

  • If I don’t have children, can I participate in your outpatient programs?

Yes. All eligible women with a substance use disorder can participate in our outpatient programs.

  • I don’t have insurance. Can I receive services?

Yes. Regardless of your ability to pay for services we will work with you to support you in accessing treatment. A Case Manager can work with you to apply for State insurance if you are eligible.

  • Is childcare available for all services?

Childcare is available for all group services (IOP and OP) and for individual work as needed. Please talk to your Counselor about your childcare needs.

  • Do you offer services to men/fathers?

No. Hope on Haven Hill provides gender-specific services for women.

  • Is your program abstinence-based?

Our IOP program is an abstinence-based program. If you are on any prescribed medications, to include marijuana, please inform your Counselor. We do believe in a harm-reduction approach to services and will tailor your treatment plan to meet your individual goals related to substance use and ensure you are in the most appropriate program to meet your needs.

  • I have DCYF involvement. What information do you share with them?

HHH staff are mandatory reporters of child abuse and neglect. The State of NH considers substance use a form a child neglect and we are mandated to report illicit use of substances where children are witness to and/or negatively impacted by your use. We will work with you to support you through this process, as we understand this can be a difficult and traumatizing experience for you and your family. If you have DCYF involvement prior to enrolling in services, you are required to sign a release of information for your case worker so that we can share program participation updates and concerns as needed. We will also request a copy of your case plan with DCYF to support you in collaborative care and meeting your family goals to prevent separation or support reunification.

  • Do I have to attend all the groups?

Yes. It is strongly recommended that you complete all program requirements to maximize the benefits of the treatment services you are enrolled in. If you are unable to attend a scheduled group, please notify your counselor as soon as possible. You will be required to make up this time to receive a certificate of completion.

  • Do I have to meet with a counselor for individual work or can I just do group work?

You are required to meet with a Counselor for individual work for the purposed of treatment planning and review. Group work (to include IOP) is an intervention for the goals identified on the treatment plan. Individual work can also support you in maximizing the information and skills learned in group work. You can participate in individual counseling in Outpatient services without being required to attend group(s).

  • Can I meet with a LADC outside of HHH rather than one of your counselors for individual work?

As a part of our program, you are required to meet with one of our Counselors for individual counseling and treatment planning.

  • Do you offer Telehealth Services?

Yes, we do offer Telehealth services to reduce barriers to accessing treatment. We strongly recommend that if you can attend in person, you do not choose Telehealth unless you or a family member you take care of are sick.

  • Can I work while attending your IOP?

Yes. Please work with your employer or prospective employer to ensure that your work schedule does not interfere with IOP programming.
