She is currently the Clinical Director at the ROAD to a Better Life Program and has a private practice as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Rochester NH.
In the past, she has worked as a Program Director for a Community Supported Living Program with people dual diagnosed with major mental health and substance abuse disorders; as a Program Manager for the Strafford County Academy Program, an alternative sentencing program for people charged with drug related felonies; and as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Dover High School for 12 years with high risk adolescents.
Ms. Hamel is currently a State Certified Instructor for the Impaired Driver Intervention Program for those convicted of DWI and is qualified to provider DWI aftercare.
Ms. Hamel is currently a member of the Opioid Task Force of Strafford County and Board Member of Hope on Haven Hill. In the past, she was a member of the Strafford County Drug Court Planning Team and Dover Coalition for Youth and Families.
